Problem seems to be fixed in 1.45 $CloudVersion.

I'm not aware of any workaround for earlier versions but it should not matter unless you use Private Cloud and somehow got stuck with older version.

front end - keyboard shortcut to invoke Insert new matrix

I frequently need to type in some matrices, and the menu command Insert > Table/Matrix > New... allows matrices with lines drawn between columns and rows, which is very helpful. I would like to make a keyboard shortcut for it, but cannot find the relevant frontend token command (4209405) for it. Since the FullForm[] and InputForm[] of matrices with lines drawn between rows and columns is the same as those without lines, it's hard to do this via 3rd party system-wide text expanders (e.g. autohotkey or atext on mac). I want to use Minimize where the variables to minimize are indices pointing into an array.
